Salthaltsenhet is a military unit in the Swedish Armed Forces, specifically designed for amphibious warfare. The term "salthaltsenhet" is Swedish for "salt removal unit," although the unit's primary function is not actually to remove salt from vessels.

In peacetime, salthaltsenhefter operate as a part of the Swedish Amphibious Corps, specializing in amphibious warfare and marine operations. These units are trained to conduct a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, off-loading troops and equipment from ships, conducting rapid beach landings, and operating in shallow water to conduct reconnaissance and other missions.

In times of conflict, salthaltsenhefter are likely to play a pivotal role in amphibious assaults, navigating the complexities of landing on enemy-controlled shorelines. To carry out these high-risk operations, salthaltsenhefter require extensive training in areas such as boat handling, navigation, and tactical combat operations in an amphibious environment.

Each salthaltsenhet unit typically consists of a small team of highly trained personnel, usually four to six soldiers, along with several specialized amphibious vessels such as the well-known V-Class boats.
