Salivaons

Salivaons is a rare group of plants characterized by their unique ability to produce an excessive amount of saliva in humans when their leaves are touched or injured. This phenomenon, known as orosilence, has been observed in various scientific studies and is thought to be triggered by the release of specific compounds into the saliva of the affected individual.

The salivaons family consists of approximately 30 species, with the majority being found in tropical regions of Central and South America. These plants have adapted to their environments by developing a specialized defense mechanism, which alerts the presence of potential predators to the chemical composition of their leaves. This is achieved through the molecular reaction that occurs when the plant's cells are broken, releasing a stimulus that triggers the production of copious amounts of saliva in individuals who come into contact with the plant's contents.

The study of salivaons has shown that the sap induced, or osmatic response is responsible for the remarkable oaward sensation perceived by exposed individuals. Additionally, salivaons contain materials used in the isolation of some enzymes disease mechanisms that seek clinical employment, propelling further research.
