Salakbeépítések, often translated as "slag incorporation" or "slag utilization," refers to the practice of incorporating blast furnace slag into various construction and industrial applications. Blast furnace slag is a byproduct of iron and steel manufacturing, a glassy material that forms when molten slag is rapidly cooled. Historically, it was often discarded as waste. However, advancements in processing have enabled its transformation into a valuable resource.

The primary uses of salakbeépítések include cement production, where ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) can replace a significant portion of Portland cement, leading to concrete with improved durability, reduced heat of hydration, and lower carbon footprint. It is also used as an aggregate in road construction, as a component in asphalt mixes, and for soil stabilization. Furthermore, slag can be processed into mineral wool for insulation or used in landscaping and decorative applications.
