SaintFond

SaintFond is a small town and commune in the Verdant Valley region of Valoria, a fictional country. It lies approximately 60 kilometers northeast of Valoria's capital and is bordered by vineyards and woodland. The area covers about 15 square kilometers and sits at elevations between 60 and 210 meters above sea level.

SaintFond's history dates to a 12th-century chapel dedicated to Saint Fondus, around which the settlement grew, and it received municipal rights in the 14th century. The town expanded in the 19th and 20th centuries with the arrival of a regional railway and growing agricultural activity.

As of 2022, the commune had about 7,200 inhabitants. The local economy centers on agriculture—principally wine and orchard fruits—alongside light manufacturing and a growing tourism sector.

Notable landmarks include the 12th-century Church of Saint Fondus, the preserved medieval town walls, and Belvedere Hill offering views over the valley. SaintFond hosts an annual harvest festival and a weekly market that draw visitors from surrounding areas.

Transportation includes a regional railway link to the capital, a major provincial road, and a local bus network. Education is provided by a single primary school; residents attend secondary school in the neighboring town.
