Saannissan is a fictional term used to describe a combined cultural, linguistic, and geographic unit created for speculative world-building and fiction. In most renderings, Saannissan denotes the Saannissan people, their homeland—the Saannis Archipelago—and the language they speak. The concept appears in literature, games, and conlangs as a coherent cultural system with a distinct history and customs.

Geography and setting: The Saannis Archipelago consists of about a dozen major islands and many smaller islets, scattered across a busy sea lane.
