SYND1
SYND1, also known as syndecan 1 or CD138, is a transmembrane heparan sulfate proteoglycan. It is a member of the syndecan family, which are cell surface proteins involved in cell adhesion, cell signaling, and cell growth. SYND1 is primarily expressed on the surface of epithelial cells, particularly in the developing embryo. It is also found on plasma cells and certain other cell types.
The protein consists of a transmembrane domain, a juxtamembrane region, and a large extracellular domain that
