SIGGRAPH

SIGGRAPH is the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. Founded in 1969 as a forum for researchers and practitioners, it is one of the world’s leading venues for the advancement of computer graphics, visualization, and interactive techniques. The group organizes an annual conference and exhibition, typically held in North America, with SIGGRAPH Asia established as a regional conference in Asia in 2008.

The flagship SIGGRAPH conference features a peer-reviewed technical program, including papers, posters, tutorials, and courses, as well as demonstrations of interactive media, graphics hardware, and software. The conference is known for its Computer Animation Festival, Electronic Theater, and various workshops that showcase new techniques in rendering, modeling, simulation, and human–computer interaction. An associated trade show and industry presence accompanies the event, attracting researchers, practitioners, and vendors from around the world.

SIGGRAPH activities extend beyond the annual meeting to publications, awards, and chapters. The group recognizes achievements in computer graphics through several honors, including the Steven Anson Coons Award for Creative Contributions to Computer Graphics. It also promotes education, research collaboration, and professional development worldwide through its programs and online resources. The organization is governed by ACM SIGGRAPH and maintains international chapters and volunteer committees to support its mission.
