This structure allows for specialization and expertise but can lead to communication barriers between departments. This structure promotes flexibility and innovation but can result in duplication of efforts. The matrix structure combines elements of both functional and divisional structures, allowing employees to report to both a functional manager and a product or project manager. This structure enhances flexibility and cross-functional collaboration but can be complex to manage. The network structure, also known as the flat structure, has minimal hierarchy and relies on horizontal communication and collaboration. This structure fosters innovation and agility but can be challenging to manage due to the lack of clear authority. Each of these structures has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the choice of structure depends on the organization's size, goals, and industry.
