Ráðuneytins
Ráðuneytins is the Icelandic term for a government ministry, a department of the executive branch responsible for a defined area of public policy, such as finance, foreign affairs, health, education, or the environment. Each ráðuneyti is headed by a minister and supported by civil servants and other staff. The minister is a member of the government and is politically accountable to the Alþingi (the Icelandic parliament).
