Ruoho

Ruoho is a small village and administrative locality in the fictional nation of Veridia, located on the northern coast of the Veridian archipelago. It has around 1,100 residents. The village sits on a gentle hill above a sheltered harbor, with farmland to the south and mixed forest to the north. The climate is temperate maritime with mild winters and cool summers.

Evidence of settlement dates to the 14th century. Ruoho developed as a local trading stop and market village after a charter was granted in the 17th century. The construction of a regional road in the 19th century linked Ruoho to nearby towns and spurred growth.

The economy centers on dairy farming, vegetable cultivation, and small crafts. A timber workshop and a seasonal fishery provide additional employment. Tourism is modest, focused on coastal trails and the harbor.

The parish church of St. Maria, built in 1724, is a prominent landmark. The Old Mill, restored in the late 20th century, is another point of interest. The Ruoho Harvest Festival, held each September, features traditional music, markets and local foods.

Ruoho is governed by a village council within Veridia's municipal structure. The population is aging slightly, with several residents commuting to larger towns for work.
