Ruhrstadion is a football stadium in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It serves as the home ground of Bundesliga club VfL Bochum. The venue opened in 1954 on Castroper Straße and has undergone several renovations, with major modernization in the 1990s to meet contemporary standards. The stadium has a capacity of around 28,000 spectators, most of whom sit in seated, covered stands surrounding a natural grass pitch.
