Roranport

Roranport is a coastal port city and the administrative seat of Roran County in the Zephyr Coast region. It lies at the mouth of the River Rora and functions as a regional commercial hub and transport gateway.

The city occupies a natural harbor bordered by low hills and sheltered by a breakwater. It has a temperate maritime climate with mild winters and cool, wet summers.

Roranport began as a fishing village in the 12th century and expanded after harbor works in the 15th century. It grew as a trading center under regional merchants and gained rail connectivity in the late 19th century, linking inland markets to the sea. A major fire in 1907 led to a careful reconstruction that shaped much of the historic center.

The local economy centers on fishing, shipbuilding, and logistics. The port handles general cargo and container traffic, complemented by nearby fish processing facilities and a growing tourism sector focused on the harborfront and maritime heritage sites.

The city is governed by a municipal council led by a mayor. As of 2022, the population is about 68,000, with a diverse mix of long-time residents and new arrivals.

Notable sites include the Old Town, the North Point Lighthouse, and the Market Hall. Roranport hosts an annual Maritime Festival that celebrates its seafaring history.
