Rollerindivider is a rare and obsolete mechanical device used in printing presses. It is a mechanism designed to separate webs of paper or fabric after they have been printed with multiple colors. The rollerindivider works by using a series of rollers with different indentation patterns to create a register at the crossing point of the individual paper or fabric strips, thus separating them.

The history of the rollerindivider dates back to the mid-19th century, when multi-color printing became a significant task in the printing industry. The invention made it possible to produce high-quality images with multiple colors, giving rise to various forms of color printing, including chromolithography. Initially, it was hand-cranked, but later electric motors replaced manual power.

The device operates by matching precision patterns or marks on the rollers to provide a register between the webs. The pattern matches exactly each area of the imprint, ensuring that serialization of separate images meets required standardization. After locating the pattern in adjacent rollersections, separating or 'cutting' extractions assist associated manual press adjustments, processing unified separation.

The use of rollerindividers became less necessary following the 1950s, when affordable offset printing technology led to widespread adoption of reduced item unloading, splitting webs of paper to smaller lots.
