Rivenshore

Rivenshore is a coastal town and harbor town in the fictional country of Northmere, situated at the mouth of the Rivenshore River along the North Coast. With a protected harbor and a mix of old warehouses and modern facilities, it serves as a regional center for fishing and light industry.

Geographically, Rivenshore sits on a sheltered bay bordered by basalt headlands. The town is built around a crescent shoreline and a pedestrian-friendly harborfront. The hinterland features rolling farmland and woodlands.

Founded in the 17th century by merchants and sailors, Rivenshore grew as a fishing and shipbuilding town. The arrival of railroad in the late 19th century spurred growth, followed by modernization after World War II. The harbor remains its economic heart.

Today the economy centers on maritime services, such as boat repair and cold storage, along with small-scale manufacturing, tourism, and services.

Rivenshore is governed by a town council within Northmere's regional framework. The population is around 12,000, with a mix of long-time residents and new arrivals.

Landmarks include the 19th-century Rivenshore Lighthouse, St. Elin's Church, and the harbor festival held each summer.

Transportation includes a marina, a ferry terminal, and bus connections to regional hubs. The town sits at the junction of several regional highways, while rail service is limited to nearby cities.
