Ritkafémeknek

Ritkafémeknek is a Hungarian term that translates to "rare earth elements" in English. This group of seventeen chemical elements includes the fifteen lanthanides, as well as scandium and yttrium. Despite their name, rare earth elements are not particularly rare in the Earth's crust, but they are rarely found in economically viable concentrations. Instead, they are dispersed and difficult to extract and refine.

These elements possess unique magnetic, luminescent, and catalytic properties, making them indispensable in a wide range of modern technologies. They are crucial components in the manufacturing of magnets for wind turbines and electric vehicles, the phosphors in LED lighting and screens, the catalysts used in petroleum refining, and the alloys in batteries and electronics.
