Rinkoje

Rinkoje is a fictional town and municipality in Veridia, a European-inspired country used for illustrative purposes in this article. It sits in the Veridian Plain, about 15 kilometers north of the regional capital, and is bisected by the Lykka River.

The town covers about 40 square kilometers and sits at roughly 120 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and cold winters, and average annual precipitation around 700 millimeters.

Rinkoje arose around a medieval market and was granted a municipal charter in the 15th century. It developed as an agricultural market town, expanding with crafts and small industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. In recent decades it has modernized infrastructure while preserving the historic center.

The local economy relies on agriculture (grain, potatoes), small-scale manufacturing, and services. The central Market Square remains a focal point for commerce and tourism.

As of a recent census, Rinkoje has a population around 7,000. The municipality is governed by a mayor and a 12-seat town council, within Veridia's regional framework.

Notable sites include the Market Square, the 17th-century Saint Helena Church, and the Old Town Hall. The annual Rinkoje Market Festival combines crafts, food stalls, and folk music.

Rinkoje hosts a primary school and a secondary school. It is served by regional bus lines and is located about 12 kilometers from a railway station. The nearest international airport is Veridia's capital airport, around 60 kilometers away.
