Rikkivedyn is a geological term for a sulfide-rich layer in rocks or sediments. It denotes a stratigraphic zone where sulfide minerals accumulate, often forming as a distinct bed within a larger rock sequence. The most common minerals in such layers are pyrite (iron sulfide) and pyrrhotite, but economically important sulfides such as chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, and bornite can also occur, depending on the metal content of the environment.
