Riidoissa is a fictional municipality and cultural region created for educational and narrative purposes to illustrate municipal governance and regional identity.

Geography: It lies in a temperate northern setting within the fictional republic of Nordovia along the Riido River, with a historic town center, surrounding villages, and forested farmland.

History: Originating in the medieval period as a market town, Riidoissa gained municipal status in 1832 and grew around timber and crafts; a railway arrived in the early 20th century, followed by late-century modernization.

Administration: Riidoissa is governed by a municipal council of 15 members elected for four-year terms; the executive is led by a mayor. It belongs to the Nordovia regional council, which coordinates services across neighboring municipalities.

Demographics and economy: The population is around 7,600 residents, predominantly Riidoissan-speaking with a minority bilingual. The economy blends agriculture (dairy and cereals), small manufacturing (wood products), and tourism centered on the historic center and natural areas.

Culture and landmarks: Riidoissa hosts the annual Market Festival in late summer and preserves a wooden-architecture streetscape, with nature reserves and hiking trails along the river and surrounding hills.

Transportation: Regional roads connect Riidoissa to neighboring towns; a passenger rail line passes through the area and the nearest airport is in Nordstad, about 60 kilometers away.
