RezeptorTransferrinKomplex

RezeptorTransf... is a term used in cell biology and biotechnology to describe the transfer of receptor proteins or receptor complexes from donor sources to recipient cells. The process can occur between natural cells or via engineered carriers and aims to alter the surface receptor repertoire of target cells without genome modification.

Mechanisms include direct membrane exchange during cell–cell contact (a process resembling trogocytosis), extracellular vesicle–mediated transfer in which donor cells release vesicles carrying functional receptors, and delivery by synthetic carriers such as liposomes or nanoparticle complexes that display receptors on their surface and fuse with recipient cell membranes.

Applications include basic research to study receptor signaling dynamics, creation of transiently modified immune or neural cells for ex vivo experiments, and potential therapeutic strategies where temporary receptor expression is desirable. In immunotherapy, RezeptorTransf... could be used to reconfigure target cell responses without permanent genetic changes; in neurobiology, it might help study synaptic receptor function. The approach is generally considered complementary to genetic engineering, offering a non-permanent route to modulate cell signaling.

Limitations include variable efficiency, limited control over recipient cell selectivity, potential immunogenic or allogeneic responses to transferred receptors, dependence on proper post-translational modifications, and regulatory and safety considerations for clinical use. Stability and precise control of receptor orientation and function remain active areas of investigation.

History and status: The concept emerged from studies of intercellular membrane transfer in the early 2010s and remains largely at the preclinical stage, with ongoing work to understand mechanisms, stability, and implications for cell behavior.
