Resistverfahren
Resistverfahren, also known as resist processes or masking techniques, are fundamental methods used in various manufacturing and artistic disciplines to selectively protect certain areas of a substrate while exposing others to a subsequent treatment. The core principle involves applying a temporary protective layer, the "resist," onto the surface. This resist can be a liquid, solid, or gaseous material. Once applied, the resist is often patterned, either by direct application in desired shapes or by selectively removing it from areas that need to be exposed.
The exposed areas are then subjected to a process such as etching, deposition, or exposure to radiation.
