Resistivenäytöt, also known as resistive touchscreens, are a type of touch-sensitive display technology. They work by employing two layers of electrically conductive material, separated by a small gap. When a user touches the screen, these two layers are pressed together at the point of contact, completing an electrical circuit. The system then measures the resistance at that point, which corresponds to specific coordinates on the screen. This allows the device to register the location of the touch.

The key characteristic of resistive screens is their sensitivity to pressure rather than just a light touch. This means they can be operated with a finger, a stylus, a gloved hand, or any object that can exert enough pressure to make contact between the two conductive layers. This makes them suitable for environments where stylus use is common or where users might be wearing gloves.

Resistive touchscreens are known for their durability and relatively low manufacturing cost. However, they are generally less sensitive than capacitive touchscreens and may not offer the same level of responsiveness or multi-touch capabilities. The image quality can also be slightly reduced due to the extra layers present in the screen construction. Despite these limitations, resistive technology remains in use in various applications, including industrial control panels, point-of-sale systems, and some older mobile devices.
