Reseptorijärjestelmin, often translated as receptor system, refers to the collection of specialized cells or molecular structures that detect and respond to specific stimuli in an organism's environment, both internal and external. These systems are fundamental to sensory perception and physiological regulation. They typically consist of sensory receptors, which are proteins or cells that bind to a particular stimulus, and the subsequent pathways that transmit and process this information.
