Repopulated

Repopulated is an adjective or past participle used to describe a population that has been restored to a previous level or established in an area where it had declined or disappeared. It can refer to humans, animals, plants, cells, or whole ecosystems. Repopulation may occur through natural recolonization when habitat conditions improve or through deliberate interventions such as reintroduction, translocation, captive breeding, habitat restoration, and conservation protection.

In human contexts, repopulation can refer to resettlement after disasters, wars, or evacuations, supported by infrastructure, services, and incentives to attract residents.
