Renoveeritaks is a species of fungi that belongs to the phylum Ascomycota. They are a type of lichenized fungus, meaning they form a symbiotic relationship with algae, typically of the genus Trebouxia. These organisms are commonly found in cold, moist environments, such as alpine tundras and boreal forests.

The sori, which resemble small, curved tusks or horns, are actually concentrations of fruiting bodies containing ascospores.
