Remregelsystemen, also known as braking control systems, are essential components in modern vehicles designed to enhance safety and improve braking performance. These systems actively manage and optimize the braking force applied to each wheel. The primary goal is to prevent wheel lock-up during braking, which can lead to a loss of steering control and increased stopping distances.

One of the most common types of remregelsystemen is the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). ABS sensors monitor the rotational speed of each wheel. If a wheel is detected to be locking up, the system rapidly pulses the brake pressure to that wheel, allowing it to regain traction and continue rotating. This process is repeated many times per second, resulting in a pulsating sensation felt in the brake pedal.

Beyond ABS, more advanced remregelsystemen include Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control Systems (TCS). ESC uses sensors to detect and prevent skidding by applying individual wheel brakes and, in some cases, reducing engine power. TCS prevents wheel spin during acceleration, particularly on slippery surfaces, by braking spinning wheels or reducing engine torque. These integrated systems work together to provide a comprehensive safety net for drivers.
