Reissue

A reissue is the act of issuing something again that had previously been published, released, or distributed. Reissues are typically undertaken to restore availability, reflect changes in rights or technology, or to commemorate an anniversary. They may involve packaging updates, content revisions, or a different distribution format.

In publishing, a book reissue is a republication of a work that may restore out-of-print titles, correct errors, or add new material such as forewords or updated introductions. In music and film, a reissue refers to a previously released album, soundtrack, or movie that is issued again—often remastered, expanded with bonus tracks, or re-packaged.

In intellectual property, a reissue patent is a patent issued to correct defects in a granted patent. In collectibles, stamps, and coins, a reissue may denote new production of an item using the same or updated designs, usually to meet renewed demand or security needs. In software and consumer electronics, a reissue can mean a new build or edition that replaces an earlier release under revised terms or features.
