Rehvirõhumõõtja

Rehvirõhumõõtja is an Estonian term referring to a tire pressure gauge. It is a device used to measure the air pressure inside a pneumatic tire. Accurate tire pressure is crucial for vehicle safety, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity.

There are several types of rehvirõhumõõtjad. Digital gauges typically display the pressure on an LCD screen and are known for their precision. Analog gauges, often with a needle and dial, are a more traditional and simpler option. Pencil gauges are compact and portable, while stick gauges offer a more robust design. Some advanced vehicle systems also incorporate indirect tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) that alert the driver to significant pressure changes, though these do not directly display the exact pressure like a standalone gauge.

Using a rehvirõhumõõtja involves removing the valve cap from the tire, firmly pressing the gauge onto the valve stem, and reading the displayed pressure. It is recommended to check tire pressure regularly, especially before long journeys and in varying weather conditions, as temperature fluctuations can affect air pressure. Maintaining the correct tire pressure, as specified by the vehicle manufacturer, ensures optimal performance and reduces the risk of accidents caused by underinflated or overinflated tires.
