Regiszter

Regiszter is a Hungarian noun meaning register or registry. In everyday language it denotes a systematically organized list of data, such as a roster of people, assets, or records kept for official or administrative purposes. It is also used in technical contexts as the term for a storage element in computing, and in other specialized fields to denote a named collection or category.

The word derives from the Latin registrum, via Old French registre, and entered Hungarian as a loanword in the modern era. It is cognate with the English register.
