Regürgitasyon

Regürgitasyon, also known as regurgitation, is the act of bringing up or expelling previously ingested food or liquid from the stomach through the mouth. This process is typically involuntary and can occur in both humans and animals. Regürgitasyon can be caused by various factors, including:

1. **Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)**: A condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn and regürgitasyon.

2. **Food Impaction**: When food becomes lodged in the esophagus, it can cause regürgitasyon as the body attempts to expel it.

3. **Eating Disorders**: Conditions such as bulimia nervosa can lead to regürgitasyon as a result of self-induced vomiting.

4. **Gastroparesis**: A condition where the stomach muscles do not function properly, leading to delayed stomach emptying and regürgitasyon.

5. **Pregnancy**: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can relax the lower esophageal sphincter, allowing stomach acid to flow back into the esophagus and cause regürgitasyon.

Regürgitasyon can be a symptom of an underlying medical condition and may require medical attention. In some cases, it can be a normal physiological response, such as during pregnancy or after eating certain foods. However, frequent or persistent regürgitasyon should be evaluated by a healthcare provider to rule out any serious underlying issues.
