Redundanssisia is a hypothetical concept used in engineering and information theory to describe systems that intentionally incorporate multiple overlapping components and pathways to ensure continuity of function in case of failures. It is not a single technology, but a category of design approaches aimed at increasing reliability, resilience, and fault tolerance through redundancy.

The term is formed from the Finnish word redundanssi, meaning redundancy, with the suffix -sia to denote a class or set. In academic and speculative design discussions, redundanssisia refers to the collection of patterns and strategies that seek to minimize downtime and preserve service levels by providing alternative mechanisms for each critical function.

Typical characteristics of redundanssisia-based designs include spatial redundancy (duplicate hardware or modules), temporal redundancy (retries, replays, or time-separated checks), and logical redundancy (alternative algorithms, data representations, or decision rules). These designs often incorporate automated health monitoring, failover capabilities, and dynamic reconfiguration so that the system can re-route tasks or switch to backup components without human intervention. Implementations may draw on techniques such as N-version programming, erasure coding, and diverse means of sensing and control to reduce single points of failure.
