REACHjärjestelmään

REACHjärjestelmään refers to the Finnish implementation or integration within the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulatory framework. REACH is a European Union regulation, and its principles are applied across member states, including Finland. The Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health are key authorities involved in REACH-related matters in Finland. Companies operating within Finland that manufacture or import chemical substances into the EU are subject to REACH obligations.

This involves registering substances with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), providing data on their properties and potential risks. Evaluation processes assess these registered substances, and authorization may be required for substances of very high concern. Restrictions can also be imposed on the use of certain chemicals. The objective of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks posed by chemicals.
