Rõhuühikutes refers to units of pressure. Pressure is defined as force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed. This fundamental concept is crucial in various scientific and engineering disciplines.

Several units are used to quantify pressure, each with its own origin and applications. The Pascal (Pa) is the SI derived unit of pressure, named after the French mathematician and physicist Blaise Pascal. One Pascal is equivalent to one newton per square meter (N/m²). While widely used in scientific contexts, the Pascal can be a very small unit, so kilopascals (kPa) and megapascals (MPa) are often employed.

Other common pressure units include the atmosphere (atm), which is approximately equal to the average atmospheric pressure at sea level. The bar is another unit, equal to 100,000 Pascals, making it slightly less than one atmosphere. In meteorology, the millibar (mb) is frequently used, with 1000 millibars equaling one bar.

In the United States, the pound per square inch (psi) is a prevalent unit, particularly in engineering and everyday applications like tire pressure. The Torr is also used, defined as one millimeter of mercury (mmHg) at 0°C. This unit is often seen in vacuum measurements and historically in barometric pressure readings. The choice of pressure unit typically depends on the specific field, historical context, and the magnitude of the pressure being measured.
