Quantz
Quantz refers to Johann Joachim Quantz (1697–1773), a German flutist, composer, and theorist of the Baroque and early Classical periods. He gained fame as a virtuoso traverso flutist and built a prominent career performing at European courts, most notably serving as the court flutist and adviser to Frederick the Great of Prussia at Potsdam. He traveled widely in Europe, studying, performing, and influencing the development of flute technique and performance practice.
