Põhjapoolusele refers to the geographic North Pole, the northernmost point on Earth. It is located in the Arctic Ocean, approximately 700 miles north of Greenland. Unlike the South Pole, which is situated on a landmass (Antarctica), the North Pole is a constantly shifting ice floe. The exact location of the geographic North Pole is defined by the intersection of the Earth's axis of rotation and its surface.

The magnetic North Pole, which is where a compass needle points, is a separate location and drifts over time. The geographic North Pole remains a fixed point in relation to the Earth's rotation.
