Pystyviemäri

Pystyviemäri, also known as a soil stack or vent stack, is a vertical pipe that serves as a primary component of a building's sanitary drainage system. Its main function is to carry waste materials from fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and showers down to the horizontal drain pipes below. In addition to waste transport, the pystyviemäri also plays a crucial role in venting the drainage system.

The venting function is vital for the proper operation of plumbing. As water flows down the pystyviemäri, it can create suction or pressure changes within the pipes.
