Professional pyrotechnicians undergo specialized training and licensing to ensure safe handling and execution of pyrotechnic displays. Consumer fireworks are available in many areas, but often with restrictions on types and usage. Accidental ignition, burns, and property damage are potential hazards associated with improper handling or use of pyrotechnic devices.
