Puntkide

Puntkide is a coastal town and municipality in the western region of the fictional nation of Veridia. It is located on the Puntkide Peninsula along the Veridian Sea, and it serves as the administrative center of the surrounding district. As of 2023, the municipality had an estimated population of about 12,500.

Geography and climate: The town overlooks a sheltered harbor and a rocky shoreline. The surrounding landscape is characterized by low hills inland and scattered vineyards. Puntkide experiences a temperate maritime climate with mild, wet winters and moderately warm summers.

History: Puntkide was founded in the 13th century by fishing communities and grew as a local trading post. It received municipal rights in the 18th century and developed a port-based economy through the 19th and 20th centuries. In recent decades, diversification has included services and tourism.

Economy and infrastructure: The harbor supports fishing fleets, cargo handling, and boat repair services. Local commerce is dominated by small businesses, markets, and craft workshops. The town is connected by regional roads; the closest rail link lies several kilometers away, with regular bus service to the town center.

Culture and landmarks: Puntkide preserves a maritime heritage with structures such as the Old Lighthouse, a historic Market Hall, and a small maritime museum. The annual Puntkide Coastal Festival celebrates fishing communities, seafood, and local crafts.
