Puhekoenkäytössä

Puhekoenkäytössä, often translated as "speech encoding" or "speech coding," refers to the process of converting analog speech signals into a digital format for transmission or storage. This digital representation is typically achieved through various compression techniques that reduce the amount of data required to represent the speech accurately. The primary goal of puhekoenkäytössä is to minimize bandwidth usage while maintaining acceptable speech quality for the listener.

There are several methods and algorithms employed in puhekoenkäytössä, broadly categorized into waveform coders and vocoders. Waveform coders, such as Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) and Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM), aim to represent the actual speech waveform as closely as possible.
