Pterothrissus is a genus of ray-finned fish belonging to the family Albulidae. This family also includes bonefishes, which are well-known for their sport-fishing value. Pterothrissus is distinguished from other bonefishes by several morphological characteristics, including the structure of its fins and the presence of certain bony elements. The genus currently contains only one recognized living species, Pterothrissus gissu.
