Prywatnie

Prywatnie is a Polish adverb meaning in private, privately, or personally. It derives from the adjective prywatny (private, personal) and is used to indicate that a statement concerns private life or personal opinion rather than official, public, or institutional positions.

The term is commonly employed to distinguish personal views or circumstances from those of an organization or authority. It can introduce a personal stance in discourse, for example when someone wants to emphasize that a statement reflects their private opinion rather than a formal position. In everyday language it is close in meaning to osobiście, though prywatnie more strongly signals the private life or personal domain rather than a general obligation or direct action.

Usage notes: in formal writing, it may be preferable to use expressions such as osobiście or w mojej prywatnej opinii if a neutral tone is required, while prywatnie remains common in journalism, interviews, and everyday speech.
