Protsesse

In Estonian, protsesse is the plural form of protsess, but the concept is widely used in business, science, and engineering.

They can be natural (photosynthesis, weathering), physical or chemical (oxidation, phase changes), technological (manufacturing lines, software pipelines), organizational (business processes), or computational (algorithms and data processing). Each type has characteristic inputs, outputs, actors, and constraints.

Modeling and analysis are common approaches to understanding protsesse. Process modeling uses diagrams and formal notations to describe steps and dependencies. In business contexts BPMN and flowcharts are common; process mining analyzes real-world process data to uncover actual workflows. Process improvement aims at efficiency, quality, and compliance.
