Thrust is the force generated by the propulsion system, specific impulse is a measure of the efficiency of the propellant, and propellant efficiency is the fraction of the propellant's energy that is converted into kinetic energy of the vehicle.

The design and selection of a propulsion system depend on various factors, including the vehicle's mission requirements, weight, size, and power constraints.
