Propshafts

A propshaft, also known as a driveshaft, is a mechanical component that transmits torque and rotation from a power source to a driven component. It typically consists of a tube or shaft with universal joints or constant velocity joints at each end. These joints allow the propshaft to flex and change angles, which is necessary to accommodate the movement of the driven component, such as a rear axle or transfer case, relative to the power source, like an engine or transmission.

Propshafts are essential in many types of vehicles, particularly rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive systems, where they connect the transmission to the differential.
