Projectionallometry is a concept used in evolutionary biology and biomechanics to describe how the scaling of traits changes along a specific axis or direction of growth, rather than simply scaling with overall size. It acknowledges that organisms do not grow uniformly in all directions. Instead, some dimensions might increase at a faster or slower rate relative to others as the organism gets larger.
