Prognoosiväärtusele
Prognoosiväärtusele, often translated as predictive value, is a concept used in statistical and medical contexts to evaluate the performance of a diagnostic test or screening tool. It refers to the probability that a person with a positive test result actually has the condition being tested for (positive predictive value) or that a person with a negative test result does not have the condition (negative predictive value).
Positive predictive value (PPV) is the probability that a subject has a disease given that the subject
Negative predictive value (NPV) is the probability that a subject does not have a disease given that
Both PPV and NPV are influenced by the prevalence of the condition in the population being tested.
