Prodhojë

Prodhojë is the present subjunctive form of the Albanian verb prodhoj, meaning to produce. It is used to express desire, doubt, possibility, or necessity in dependent clauses and after expressions that govern the subjunctive, such as dëshiroj që…, duhet që…, or shpresoj që…. In standard Albanian, the form appears in subordinate clauses with the particle që or with të before the verb in certain constructions, for example: Dëshiroj që ai të prodhojë rezultate të mira.

The form prodhojë is most commonly the third-person singular present subjunctive, and it participates in the broader pattern of -oj verbs in Albanian. Other persons use related subjunctive forms, such as prodhojnë for the third-person plural. The verb’s stem is prodh-, and the diacritic ë is part of the standard orthography in this mood, which distinguishes it from related indicative forms.

Etymologically, prodhojë derives from the root prodh- meaning to produce, with the standard Albanian verb ending to mark mood. It is closely related to the noun prodhim (production) and to other forms derived from the same root, such as prodhojmë (we produce) in the indicative or subjunctive when appropriate.
