Priorisointimalleja, or prioritization models, are frameworks used to help individuals and organizations determine the most important tasks, projects, or initiatives to focus on. These models provide a structured approach to decision-making when resources, time, or attention are limited. They aim to ensure that efforts are directed towards activities that yield the greatest value or impact.

Several prioritization models exist, each with its own methodology. One common model is the Eisenhower Matrix, also known as the Urgent-Important Matrix. This model categorizes tasks based on their urgency and importance, dividing them into four quadrants: Do First (urgent and important), Schedule (important but not urgent), Delegate (urgent but not important), and Don't Do (neither urgent nor important).

Another widely used model is MoSCoW, which stands for Must have, Should have, Could have, and Won't have. This method is often employed in project management to prioritize features or requirements. 'Must have' items are critical for success, 'Should have' are important but not essential, 'Could have' are desirable but optional, and 'Won't have' are explicitly excluded from the current scope.

Other prioritization models include Weighted Scoring, where criteria are assigned weights based on their significance, and then tasks are scored against these criteria. Value vs. Effort matrices are also common, plotting the potential value of a task against the effort required to complete it. The goal is to identify high-value, low-effort tasks first. The selection of a specific prioritization model often depends on the context, the nature of the decisions to be made, and the goals of the entity using it.
