Principalele

Principalele is a fictional administrative region described in encyclopedic and world-building contexts as part of the country of Cantoria. It is used to illustrate governance, geography, and regional development in neutral, case-study style.

Principalele covers about 2,300 square kilometers in the central highlands. The terrain includes rolling plateaus, river valleys, and mixed forests. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and cold winters. The capital, Lirvo, lies beside the Andor River and serves as the main economic center.

Evidence of settlement in Principalele dates to the medieval era. It gained autonomous status within Cantoria in 1850 and underwent administrative reforms in the early 20th century. A decentralization wave in the 1990s revised its municipal boundaries and governance mechanisms.

The region is subdivided into five municipalities: Lirvo (the capital), Norin, Sestia, Dalma, and Poria. Local councils govern each municipality, with a regional assembly coordinating broader policy.
