Pretvaranja

Pretvaranja is a noun used in several South Slavic languages to denote the act or process of transforming or converting something from one form to another. Derived from the verb pretvarati, it carries the sense of changing, converting, or adapting. The word appears in various grammatical forms depending on case and number, for example pretvaranje (singular), pretvaranja (genitive or plural).

Meaning and scope:

In mathematics and geometry, pretvaranja describes transformations that map objects from one set to another, such as rotations, translations, reflections, and scaling, as well as more general functions between spaces. Key properties include invertibility, structure preservation (as in isomorphisms or linear transformations), and composition.

In computing and data processing, pretvaranja refers to data transformation and format conversion, including type casting, encoding changes, and data normalization. In ETL workflows, data are moved and restructured via a sequence of pretvaranja.

In physics and engineering, coordinate transformations between reference frames are a common use, including Lorentz and Galilean transformations, which convert measurements from one frame to another.

In everyday language, pretvaranja can denote currency conversion, unit conversion, or any process of changing a thing’s state or role, such as pretvaranje energijskih planova into implementable projects.
