Prepustení
Prepustení is a term used in Czech and Slovak contexts to denote the act of releasing a person from custody, detention, or institutional care. In criminal justice, it typically refers to moving from confinement to a non-custodial status, either upon completion of a sentence or earlier under conditions. It includes release from remand detention and release from prison after serving a sentence. Common forms are unconditional release, conditional release (podmíněné/ podmienečné prepustenie) with supervision, and parole, which may require reporting to authorities, residence restrictions, and adherence to rehabilitation programs. If conditions are violated, the release can be revoked and the person returned to custody.
